At the end of January I attended Americas Mart in Atlanta. While shopping at market, I not only shopped for clients, but also was looking for new products to bring to my shop in Charleston (@ Indigo Market). When I visit market, there are always trends spotted, from colors to motifs to styles. You begin to notice quite a few home furnishing trends. This January there were quite a few 2016 home furnishings trends I loved. The first one being feathers.

I happen to love that the feather motif is increasing in popularity. There is something about a feather that, for me, evokes a sense of peace and light. Feathers have been a spiritual symbol for centuries, dating back to Native American tribes. Depending on the Native American tribe, feathers symbolize protection, honor, and that it is a gift given to you by another spirit. I love that there is a belief that feathers are a gift given to those.
Feathers can be breathtakingly beautiful. There are so many birds that God has created with extraordinary colors and designs. Do you have a favorite feather? I love a pheasant feather and a peacock feather. But there are so many beautiful ones that blow me away.
