SRC: Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies

September 9, 2013 By Christy Davis 11 Comments

I sware I’m going to be better about posting here. We have a lot of things happening in South Carolina, all good.  More posts to come on what’s happening in the Davis’ lives.

Today is my monthly Secret Recipe Club post, and I was assigned the blog Dancing Veggies.  I really like Amanda’s blog, she has some great recipes.  I came pretty close to making something other than sweets, but I just love to bake!  But I cannot wait to make the Tamale Pie (making later this week) and the Rustic Blueberry Apple Pie and the Donut Muffins (say what?!).  So stop on over to Dancing Veggies and see her amazing recipes!

So I decided on the Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies (we could call these the 4 C’s recipe).  The cookies were definitely something new for me to try.  If you love cream cheese, you will love these. The chocolate isn’t really a strong flavor in this cookie; the cream cheese takes center stage.  So if you are expecting a chocolate cookie from this, don’t!  But don’t worry you won’t be disappointed with this cookie.  It’s quite tasty and super easy to make.  I did add 1 teaspoon of vanilla, which wasn’t in the recipe.  A little vanilla doesn’t hurt anyone, right?!

So hop on into the kitchen and get to baking these bad boys!!

Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies:
Ingredients:
  • 1 stick of butter (soy or milk), at room temperature
  • 3 oz cream cheese (soy or milk or other), at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tbsp 70% (or higher) baking cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Blend for about 4minutes, or until mixture is fluffy.
  3. Meanwhile sift together the flour, cocoa, and salt. Slowly mix into the cream cheese mixture until everything is blended.
  4. Spoon onto cookie sheets and bake for 11 minutes. Allow cookies to sit on the sheet for at least 3 minutes before removing to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
Notes:
Cookies will flatten some while cooling, this is ok.

I don't think I've ever put cream cheese in cookies. These sound really interesting, and they look really good, too.

I've never had cream cheese in a cookie before, but it's a genius idea! I bet it makes them so moist and chewy.

Happy Friday! Loved creating this cozy, warm & inv Happy Friday! Loved creating this cozy, warm & inviting family room. Layering patterns & textures are the easiest way to create a cozy space.

Also fun fact: this is the only project I’ve worked on in Columbia, where I have used orange in the color palette. Who knew most of my clients prefer cool tones.

I can’t believe I hadn’t shared this delicious I can’t believe I hadn’t shared this delicious restaurant in Paris, @girafe_paris Not only is the food amazing, but the interiors are absolutely stunning!

The bar is faced w gorgeous fluted marble & a double thick edge. The bar seats are equally as fabulous. If you look at the walls they are fluted as well. This bar is one of the most beautiful interiors I’ve ever seen, all the way down to the bar accessories. Not one detail was left out. There is a view of the Eiffel Tower, which makes for a picturesque meal.

The food was amazing! Do yourself a favor and put this restaurant on your list of places to eat in my beloved Paris!

Anyone else wishing they could stay in bed a littl Anyone else wishing they could stay in bed a little longer?! 🙋🏽‍♀️ Today I wished I could’ve slept in another 30 min. Here’s a master bedroom I’m workin on. We still have draperies to complete the space.

But I think it’s coming along beautifully! I love the peaceful color tones & the abstract floral art. The windows will have faux Roman shades in a neutral embroidered fabric.
