If you saw yesterday’s post you got to see some of the snippets from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s China exhibit (here). It was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love to attend museums and look at art. I even contemplated minoring in art history. I’m sad to say I did not, but I truly appreciate it and enjoy it immensely. There is something to be said about art. And yes it does speak to you. Some grab your attention immediately through color or through the medium, others grab you through the story. I love that art evokes so many different emotions for each person. Today I thought I share with you some of my favorite pieces from the museum that are always on exhibit.
The architecture alone is stunning at his museum! It’s inspiring!!
You will see that I love a variety of art through my highlighted pieces. I believe that a good art collection is mixture of varying art styles. Do not limit yourself to one style; keep an open mind and place an abstract next to a realist piece. That’s what makes it interesting! Enjoy the tour!
Does anyone remember watching the movie Girl with a Pearl Earring featuring Colin Firth & Scarlett Johansson? Well here is that painting the movie was based upon, entitled Study of a Young Woman by artist Johannes Vermeer.
I love a countryside/animal piece!
Oh you know, Jesus and I just hanging out. #jesusselfie I think my Grandmother had a copy of this Christ painting. Do any of you remember this painting?
I love watching artists sketch what they see. I wish I had this talent.
I absolutely love this piece! The colors, the subject, everything.
Why can’t I own one of his pieces? Anyone willing to donate one to me?
I almost have the perfect photo! The girl on the left wouldn’t move, but I thought I’d share.
Oh hey there Van Gogh!
I’m in love with this one!!!
The museum has so many beautiful rooms with stunning architecture
I know, she looks a little decrepit, but for some reason I liked her.
I couldn’t resist a fun photo! Who says art isn’t fun?
Gorgeous gate in the museum!
One of my all-time favorite artists, Jackson Pollock!
I know it was probably picture overload here, but I just couldn’t resist. The sad thing, is there are so many more photos that I took. I hope you enjoyed your day at the Met!
