If you saw yesterday’s post you got to see some of the snippets from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s China exhibit (here). It was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love to attend museums and look at art. I even contemplated minoring in art history. I’m sad to say I did not, but I truly appreciate it and enjoy it immensely. There is something to be said about art. And yes it does speak to you. Some grab your attention immediately through color or through the medium, others grab you through the story. I love that art evokes so many different emotions for each person. Today I thought I share with you some of my favorite pieces from the museum that are always on exhibit.

Metropolitan Museum of Art
The architecture alone is stunning at his museum! It’s inspiring!!
You will see that I love a variety of art through my highlighted pieces. I believe that a good art collection is mixture of varying art styles. Do not limit yourself to one style; keep an open mind and place an abstract next to a realist piece. That’s what makes it interesting! Enjoy the tour!
Does anyone remember watching the movie Girl with a Pearl Earring featuring Colin Firth & Scarlett Johansson? Well here is that painting the movie was based upon, entitled Study of a Young Woman by artist Johannes Vermeer.
